It was an unusually hot and muggy spring evening down at Coolidge Thursday night with the Astro's visiting the Mariners hoping to get the game in before the rain.

The game would start off as a pitcher’s duel between Mariners rookie Daniel Gonzaga and Astro's veteran Brayden Mahoney. In the first Daniel would strike out three of the first five batters he faced. Not to be outdone Brayden would step to the mound in the bottom half of the inning and retire three of the first four he faced all by way of the K. End of one: Mariners 0… Astro's 0

In the second it was more of the same. Daniel would surrender a few walks and hit to Hanwen Tang, but the Astro's were unsuccessful in driving in a run. Daniel would end his night surrendering no runs while notching 6 K’s. In the bottom of the second Brayden would return to the mound and once again retire the side by way of the K allowing only one hit by Tian Ma. End of two: Mariners 0… Astro's 0

The Astros would strike first in the third. Rookie Max Depeter Martin would begin the inning on the bump for the Mariners. Max threw well but the Astros plate discipline coupled with a few timely hits by Adam Tedesco and Colin Desruisseax saw the Astro's put five runs on the board. In the bottom half of the inning the Astros' would send Brayden back out and much like he had done the previous two innings he retired the side adding three more K’s to his total, ending his evening with 9K’s on 41 pitches. End of three: Astro's 5… Mariners 0

With the heavens set to open and darkness setting in, the fourth would prove to be the final inning of the game. The Astros' continued to work the count in their favor. Brayden would end the inning with an RBI single that helped the Astro's put five more runs on the board.  In the bottom half of the inning young Tyler Jack would take the ball for the Astro's looking to close things out. This marked Tyler’s first appearance of the season and he looked solid on his way to a hit-less half inning that would see him strike out three. End of game: Astro's 10… Mariners 0

Both teams battled hard and made for an exciting Thursday night baseball game. Best of luck to both teams the rest of the reason.
