An exiting early morning interleague contest between perennial west coast teams, the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.

The First Inning began with a light rain falling but that didn’t stop both teams from scoring Five runs through timely hits spread around really working the pitch count on both Mariners starter, Jrake Baez, and Padres starter, Louis Rossetti. Hits from Zavonte Walker and Connor Bouffard would lead the Padres attack while Daniel Gonzaga and Gino Leardi would strike hits for the Mariners.

Midway through the Top of the Second Inning, with runners on first and second, after a final strikeout to end the morning for Louis Rossetti, Dennis Moody, came in to pitch for the Padres and would then strike out the next two batters in a row on seven pitches to get out of a jam and keep the game tied at Five.

In the bottom of the second inning the Padres rally was started by on a single by Gregory Burtsev.  After a walk to Alex Keith, Dennis Moody, would step up to the plate and hit a long double to right field.  Louis Rossetti followed that hit with a RBI single to to score Dennis Moody and after a walk to Zavonte Walker, Connor Bouffard, and Angelo McNamara, would come through with hits to make the score Ten to Five Padres.

In the Top of the Third Dennis Moody was again excellent on the mound.  First he showed off his glove making a nice play on a hard hit ball up the middle by Marcus Ding for the first out of the inning before striking out the next two batters to keep the Mariners scoreless.

The Bottom of the Third saw the Padres continue the attack with big hits from Cooper Lindsey and Noah Couture spread around more walks as they increased their lead to Fifteen to Five.

Due to time constrictions the Fourth Inning would be the last and Dennis Moody again took the mound to deliver for the Padres but this time it would be his defense that stole the show.  With runners on base and two outs Angelo McNamara would make a great stop on a smash to Short and throw to Brody Sheard at third for the final out of the game.

A great game by both teams!
