On a beautiful afternoon for baseball, the Cardinals and Giants squared off with the Cardinals prevailing. Cardinals starter Anthony Santiago was spectacular giving his team 3+ innings of no hit baseball while striking out 9 batters. Anthony was relieved by Des Nichols, who did a great job pitching out of jam in the 4th and had a 1-2-3 5th inning.
The Giants pitching combination of Brendan Parisi, Issac Diaz, Sota Matsuda and Ryan Moss combined for a great effort and struck out 11 Cardinal batters and certainly deserved better than the final score indicated.
The Cardinals got strong days at the plate from Torin Narva (single, double), 2 hits a piece off the bats of Liam Lawlor, Anthony Guarini, and Sampath Katnalu. Anthony Santiago reached base 3x, Mandy Kelmer (2x), while Ben Miller, Des, Owen, and Shane Abramowitz contributed solid hits as well.
The Giants offense was led by strong hits from Sota Matsuda and Griffin Walsh, while Dante Solitro, Elijah Dilone, and Agilan Kumar put together great at-bats, which led to all 3 scoring runs.
Good luck to both teams the reminder of the season as the kids showed a lot of great sportsmanship throughout the entire game.
