After 2 reschedules, the Cardinals and Giants were finally able to square off with the Cardinals outlasting the Giants in the end.
Pitching for the Cardinals was Liam Lawlor and Owen Michalowski who combined for 7k's over 3 innings to keep their team within striking distance. Des Nichols then continued his strong pitching that has been on display all season by closing out the final inning with 3k's. Issac Diaz and Soto Matsuda were equally impressive for the Giants with each tallying 4k's and only giving up a few scattered runs over 3+ innings of work. Brendan Parisi and Jason Malo also threw the ball well despite some patient at-bats from the Cardinals.
At the plate, the Cardinals were led by Owen Michalowski (homerun, double, single), two hits a piece off the bats of Zach Papper and Anthony Guarini, a loud double from Sampath Katnalu, Shane Abramowitz (single, on base 3x), strong / timely hits from Anthony Santiago, Torin Narva and Dillon Harrington. Big contributions as well from Des Nichols, Mandy Kelmer, Christian Prizio and Ben Miller who all reached base safely multiple times.
Offensively, the Giants were led by multi hit games from Griffin Walsh, Izaiah Skiesto and Agilan Kumar. On base multiple times for the Giants were Sota, Jason, Joshua Moody, Dante Solitro and Elijah Dilone. Brendan also contributed with a well struck single. Issac Diaz made the defensive play of the game by snagging a wicked liner at SS over his back shoulder.
Best of luck to both teams in the final week of the regular season!
