DOUGLAS CLARENCE MCCLURE Grandview, Wash. Smith Funeral Home Douglas Clarence McClure age 76, of Grandview, WA, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born February 19.1931. to Clarence and Henrietta (Smith) McClure in Weiser, Idaho. Douglas received his education in Grandview graduating with the Grandview High School Class of 1949.

On July 14, 1951, he married Marie Heintz in Yakima, WA. From 1952 until 1954, Douglas served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he worked for Dykstra Slaughter House in Grandview, WA. Douglas later returned to school attending YVCC and later the University of Washington receiving his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Douglas later worked for 31 years at Hanford retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming his apple and cherry orchards. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie McClure of Grandview, WA; his two sons, Gregory McClure and Carol Faith of Yakima, WA, and Jeffrey McClure and Elsie Cromwell of Everett, WA, and one daughter, Pamela Blakley and husband, Scott of Eugene, Oregon; three grandchildren, Christopher, BriAnn and Jennifer McClure and one great-granddaughter, Alexis. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert McClure. At Douglas' request, there will be no formal funeral services. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements.

She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Walla Walla College Nursing School and was employed as a nurse in her husband's medical office. Delores fought a brave fight with pancreatic cancer for the past year and a half.

She touched the lives of many people, both in the medical profession and in her church (Riverview Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pasco). She will be remembered for always having a kind word of encouragement. Delores is survived by her husband, Wendell; four children, Debra Guy of Southern California, Nancy Rider of Spokane, Cynthia Schmidt-Robinson of Southern California and Monty Robinson of Washington D.C.; and five grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, all of whom reside in the Pacific Northwest.
