Positive Coaching Alliance

The Shrewsbury Little League has partnered with PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance)

We will be having a series of  workshops with the coaches and  parents aimed at giving our kids a more positive and enjoyable little league experience.

The first workshop will be for our managers and coaches and we are working on setting up one for  parents.

We encourage you to go to their website  www.positivecoach.org and check out some of the on-line resources available.

SLL is very excited to be joining the PCA. We need  everyone involved with the league (coaches, parents, players) to participate in order to make it a success.

New USA Baseball Bat Standards for 2018

As we approach the spring baseball season, Shrewsbury Little League wishes to remind parents of all baseball players once again regarding the new bat standards implemented by USA Baseball effective January 1, 2018.  All bats must have a USA Baseball stamp in order for them to be legally used this season.  The stamps are located just above the handle on all approved bats. All bats must have a USA Baseball stamp or they will not be allowed for use.

Should you have any additional questions please find a USA Baseball FAQ document at https://usabat.com/faq/ which explains the new standards further. Additionally, a complete list of approved bats can be found at https://usabat.com.  SLL highly recommends that parents consider DICK's Sporting Goods as a resource. They have competitive pricing and DICK's is a strong supporter of our league each year locally.  During the weekend of March 17th and 18th there will be a Shrewsbury Little League day with coupon available and can be used towards a bat purchase.

Their offered products can be found in-store or at https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/f/2018-youth-new-usa-standard-baseball-bats#bazaarRating:&facet:&productBeginIndex:0&orderBy:5&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:&facetCategoryId:&fPrevCatId:&

The new bats are manufactured primarily of composite and/or metal alloy and are available at various price points.  Tee Ball bats are included in the new standard and tee ball bats (26" and shorter) manufactured prior to 1/1/2018 will be eligible for a sticker application that can be purchased at https://usabaseballshop.com/products/usabat-tee-ball-sticker?variant=44877922632 in lieu of a new purchase.
